Top 5 For Friday: Movie Edition

Happy Friday everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. My day was pretty low-key at work, followed by an evening spent hanging around my apartment, getting cleaning and other “work” stuff done so I can enjoy my weekend. 🙂

Are you guys ready for the second edition of Top 5 For Friday? I thought so.

Top 5 Movies I Tell People Are My Favorite:

1. Almost Famous

2. Big Fish

3. Stranger Than Fiction

4. The Darjeeling Limited

5. The Princess Bride

I think the thing all these movies have in common is that: a) They all have some sort of magic-hippie-whimsical edge to them; and b) They all have happy endings. Not to say I don’t love a sad movie, but I generally don’t want to watch something that’s dark and depressing. Real life has enough darkness in it, and I think it’s nice to celebrate joy in life.

Top 5 Movies I Actually Watch The Most:

1. Pride & Prejudice

2. The Darjeeling Limited

3. 27 Dresses

4. Elizabethtown

5. Center Stage

Let me break it down for you: I’m a sucker for romantic comedies. Actually, I am proud that there is some (read: one) overlap in these 2 lists. I really love my official top 5 movies, but most of the time when I want to lay on the couch and watch a movie, it’s a ridiculous and cheesy girl movie. Also, I may secretly wish I were a ballerina (thanks, Center Stage).

Now that I’ve typed this out, I kind of want to watch a movie. But the sensible part of me is telling me to get ready for bed so I can get up for that early hot yoga class tomorrow. Hope you have a great evening!
