Hello hello! It’s been a while, huh? I’m really sorry. The last few weeks have been pretty hectic, with a couple big projects at work and some freelance work as well, plus a weekend trip to Nashville. And other than that, I didn’t feel like I had much to write about…and then sort of got out of the habit, you know?
Anyway, here’s a quick recap of what I have been up to while I was off the grid.
1. Portugal. The Man – In The Mountain In The Cloud
Portugal. The Man is one of those bands I’ve heard of for years, but never really listened to. Then one day I heard a song from this album while listening to Spotify Radio and absolutely fell in love. I checked the album out at the library (since I refuse to pay Spotify’s monthly fee and needed to listen to it all. the. time.) and have been listening to it nonstop since. Do you ever find an album that encompasses everything you love about music at one time? That’s what this was for me.
2. Watching tons and tons of Sherlock
My love for Benedict Cumberbatch has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few weeks. I’ve watched both seasons of Sherlock before, but since it’s on Netflix…I’ve been watching it again. And possibly have been through both more than once recently. In all fairness, it is a very good show—he’s just an added bonus.
3. Happily Ever After by Harriet Evans
Over Labor Day weekend, I was looking for something new to read. Specifically I wanted chick lit to read by the pool last weekend—something fun and sort of mindless. This book is about 500 pages long, and I’ve read almost all of it in the last 2 weeks, just before bed each night. The story follows a girl just out of college, living in London and working in the publishing industry. It’s been a really enjoyable read, and I’m already planning on picking up another Harriet Evans book after I finish it. (I always feel like such a bad English major when I admit something like that.)
So that’s what my last few weeks have been like! I will say I’m looking forward to posting on here more, but sometimes it’s just nice to have a break from documenting your life—even though I fully realize no one is asking me to do this except me. 🙂 Hope you have a great evening!
