New (Old) Music

Hello and happy Tuesday/Boosday!

Do you guys ever go back and rediscover something you used to love? After a pretty long day Saturday, I spent Sunday mostly lazing around the house. This has been pretty typical for me lately—Sunday is becoming my most low-energy day (besides Boosday, obvs). I sleep in, get some breakfast, and watch some Netflix.

Lately I’ve been watching New Girl and totally loving it. Real talk: Zooey Deschanel is my celebrity girl crush. I know a lot of people are tired of her schtick, but I just think she’s the best. (Maybe because I get told I sound like this impersonation of her all. the. time?)

Anyway, watching New Girl made me want to go back and listen to She & Him, the band Zooey Deschanel is in with M. Ward (another of my faves). And listening to She & Him made me want to listen to The Beatles. (I am in no way equating She & Him with The Beatles, so please don’t go there.)

So I ended up going through a lot of my old CDs and listening to them—lots of sunny pop music for summertime. Here’s a little bit of what I’m listening to now.

1. She & Him—Volumes 1 & 2. Here are a couple of the videos from the albums.

2. The Beatles—Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. I was overwhelmed with the desire to purchase this album at Target on Sunday. Specifically this song.

3. The Hush Sound. Does anyone remember The Hush Sound? I was in love with this band in college, and I was pleasantly surprised to find I still loved them after basically forgetting about them for a few years. Here’s one of my favorite songs.

Lots of happy music, which summer is perfect for. What are you listening to these days? Hope you are having a great day!
