Happy WIAW everyone! I’ve skipped the last few weeks, but I’m happy to report I’m back on the What I Ate Wednesday bandwagon. These are my eats from this past Saturday.
I snoozed Saturday morning until almost 10am (!). I guess my body needed to catch up from the last couple weeks. I was super hungry, so I headed straight to the kitchen to make breakfast.
Scrambled eggs with shredded cheese, olives, green peppers, pepper, and hot sauce, plus 2 pieces of cinnamon raisin toast. One of my favorite breakfasts (OK, or lunches or dinners if I’m being really honest).
My mom came to visit me and Dora while I was making breakfast, so it was fun to catch up for a bit. After she headed out, I got to work doing fun things like cleaning and balancing my checkbook. Oh, adulthood.
Around 3pm, I headed to the gym for a workout (I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and this 4th of July workout from Tone It Up). I could tell my breakfast wasn’t going to hold me over much longer, but usually once I start sweating, I can get my mind off my stomach. NOT the case this day. When I got home I was starving!
I ate a piece of this Laughing Cow cheese to hold me over while I blended a smoothie.
In the mix: one scoop of vanilla protein powder, one pineapple and caramel Chobani bite, one frozen banana, and about one cup of coconut milk. In a very festive cup. 🙂
I made plans to hang out with friends Saturday evening, so I quickly showered and got ready. (My late lunch was doing nothing for my hunger—all I could focus on was getting to dinner!)
Since my friends and I were wanting to go somewhere cheap and I was ridiculously hungry, I decided we should go to my good ol’ standby, Subway.
Veggie sandwich with Baked Lays.
And an oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert.
Not pictured: After we had dinner, we headed to our favorite hole-in-the-wall bar for a drink (one vodka soda with lime for me).
I got home pretty early, so I munched on some chocolate chips while I hung around the apartment before bed.
That’s all, folks! How were your weekends? Any advice on fun things to do on the cheap? My friends and I are so sick of sitting at each others’ apartments this summer. 🙂
Also, since Google Reader was laid to rest this week, I’ve been trying out different replacements. Yesterday I switched over to Bloglovin, and I’m really liking it so far. If you want, you can follow me over there!
