Yesterday morning I snoozed instead of getting up and working out before work. But about halfway through the day, I found out that it was National Running Day! So instead of doing the workout I had planned, I decided to head out for a little run after work.
I’ve been really bad about running consistently lately, and it’s been so hot and humid outside that pretty much every step is agony. But I made myself do a full 3 miles, and of course I felt awesome afterward.
Running and I have a love/hate relationship—I’m really trying to get back in the groove of going out at least a couple days each week. The problem is that I’m such a baby in the summer. I just can’t mentally focus in the heat and humidity, and the minute I let myself take a break and walk, it’s game over. My goal is to try and go before work, when it’s a little cooler. And also, it feels awesome to have my workout done before my day begins.
Aaaaaaand I realized today that I seriously need some new running music. I feel like I’m skipping practically every song that comes on my iPhone while I’m out. Need to start working on that stat. Any suggestions are more than welcome!
