Top 5: Favorite Albums

Let’s talk about favorites today. (I love doing this with friends.) In no particular order, top 5 favorite albums—GO!

1. Bright Eyes, I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning

Bright Eyes has been one of my (if not THE) favorite bands since college. I know some people hate Conor Oberst, and I get it, but I love him. But this album in particular is so beautiful and simple. Favorite song: “Lua.”

2. Weezer, Blue Album

This is the perfect summer album. Or anytime album. But it’s especially good on a sunny day with the windows open. Favorite song: “The World Has Turned And Left Me Here.”

3. Arcade Fire, Funeral

This pretty much has whatever you’re looking for—simple, pretty songs, epic anthems, dance music—you got it. Favorite song: “Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels).”

4. The Avett Brothers, Four Thieves Gone

Whenever I start listening to The Avett Brothers, I don’t stop for at least a month. They are that infectious. Out of my 5 favorite albums, it’s most difficult to pick just one favorite song from this album, but I did it. Favorite song: “Left On Laura, Left On Lisa.”

5. Spoon, Gimme Fiction

In all honesty, this is the album that rotates off this list and gets replaced most often. But whenever I come back to it, I’m always surprised at how good it is. Favorite song: “The Beast And Dragon, Adored.”

So what do you got? Do I have the worst or best taste in the world? Feel free to share. 🙂
